Have you ever seen these cute little furry animals, These are Japanese flying squirrels, small mammals that are able to soar from branch to branch thanks to a pubescent membrane (patagium) located between the front and hind legs. Although these cute mammals don’t fly, they can glide up to 100 meters away. This remarkable ability allows them to escape from possible predators or, more simply, to reach other trees.
