Friendships between animals are common. But what if it comes from different species of animals? Interspecies communication is always admirable. These animals feel love and care for each other, gradually begin to trust each other, and a beautiful friendship blossoms. Just take the cow and giant turtle from this story as an example.

Rescued cow Simon Leonardo, an African spurred giant tortoise, became friends when they lived together at the Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand (WFFT). Even though they are different species, they created the most incredible cross-species friendship that surprised everyone at WFFT.

Leonardo was rescued from the Bangkok Zoo in 2013 after the zoo closed. Simon arrived at WFFT in January 2016. Then part of his back leg fell off because he got caught in the vines along with his mother. Luckily, his missing leg was replaced with a prosthetic leg to make it easier for him to walk.

To help the injured cow recover quickly, WFFT staff placed it in a large outdoor enclosure and then moved it to a field where they housed two more rescued cows.

Here Simon met Leonardo. After several meetings together, the cow and the giant turtle became close friends. They always stick to each other, eat, and relax together. It seems their friendship will be inseparable.
