The golden tortoise beetle is an amazing arthropod. This little creature with legs looks like little golden springs.
That’s not all. These beautiful beetles have a special texture.
There is a flattened bandage that covers their hard wings and covers their head and legs. The word “tortoise” in their name refers to that.
Interestingly, this ridge does what it has to do. When beetles are attacked, they stick to their body parts. Then, their flying wings will be protected.
Like most colorful creatures, these golden turtles change color after the beetle season. Their mood, surprisingly, can affect their color.
